Pop star Chappell Roan says she is no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman, after renewed scrutiny of email exchanges between him and Ghislaine Maxwell.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Roan said she had ended the relationship with the agency, adding that artists "deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity".
Roan made no mention of Epstein or the Epstein files in her statement on Instagram announcing her departure.
Wasserman has faced criticism after the publication of personal emails, described as flirtatious, exchanged with Maxwell in 2003. The emails were included in newly released files linked to Jeffrey Epstein, published by the US Justice Department late last month.
Wasserman has apologised for the correspondence and said it took place before Maxwell's and Epstein’s crimes were publicly known. He has denied any personal or business relationship with Epstein.
Bethany Cosentino, of rock duo Best Coast, called for his exit in an open letter last week, writing: "The position Casey Wasserman has put his agents in is inexcusable."
The agency's clients also include Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, and Ed Sheeran.
Wasserman is also the chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, and has faced calls to step down from the position following the release of the emails.
Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence after being convicted in 2021 of charges including sex trafficking of a minor. Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to prostitution-related charges and died in custody in 2019, in a death ruled a suicide.
The agency has been contacted for comment.
