Sanet Steenkamp named Africa’s representative on Commonwealth of Learning board

In a statement issued on social media this week, the Commonwealth of Learning says Steenkamp’s appointment reflects her commitment to advancing equitable and inclusive education across Namibia, Africa and the wider Commonwealth. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

“We look forward to the positive impact her leadership will have on the organisation’s strategic direction and governance in the years ahead,” the statement reads.

Steenkamp has served as minister of education, innovation, youth, sport, arts and culture since March 2025, overseeing the combined portfolio.
