googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('footerleaderboard'); }); Evidence leaders at the Nkabinde Enquiry are expected to apply for a postponement until Thursday due to the absence of additional witnesses.

This follows the conclusion of testimony by former KwaZulu-Natal Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP), Advocate Moipone Noko, on Friday.

The enquiry is investigating the fitness of the South Gauteng Director of Public Prosecutions, Advocate Andrew Chauke, to hold office.

Meanwhile, the first witness, former NDPP Advocate Shamila Batohi, has been granted permission to appoint legal counsel after walking out during mid cross-examination in December, last year.

Justice Nkabinde had instructed both legal teams to submit their applications and responding affidavits, over the weekend.

?Take the following order: This matter is postponed to Monday, the 9th of February 2026 at 9am. The evidence-leading team will file an application for the postponement, as they indicated, by Saturday, the 7th of February 2026. This application will be argued on Monday, the 9th at 9am,? said Nkabinde.
