President of Uzbekistan receives Pakistan’s highest state award

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been awarded the Order of Nishan-e-Pakistan (Order of Pakistan), his press service announced. The country’s highest honor was presented by president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari on 6 February, during Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state visit to Islamabad.

The award recognizes joint efforts to strengthen multifaceted cooperation and reflected friendship and deep respect for the people of Uzbekistan, the statement said.

At the ceremony, the sides expressed confidence that the Uzbek-Pakistani strategic partnership would continue to grow.

Previously, the Nishan-e-Pakistan has been awarded to Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, US president Richard Nixon, president of South Africa Nelson Mandela, king Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, UAE president Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, president of China Hu Jintao, president of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Crown prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman and others.
