The Fiji men's sevens team has romped through their pool matches at the Perth Sevens, winning all three and securing their semifinal spot.
Three good wins has given them the right to meet New Zealand again in a repeat of last weekend's Singapore Sevens semifinals.
The two teams also met in the semis last weekend, with Fiji coming from behind to win 21-14, on their way to claiming the Singapore Sevens title for the second consecutive year.
In Perth, Fiji defeated South Africa 20-14, having also accounted for both Argentina and Spain in earlier pool matches.
They had beaten Argentina 26-10, with playmaker Terio Tamani scoring a double to lead the come-from-behind win, after the Pumas had led 10-0 in the first half.
In their second game of Saturday, the Fijians escaped from the jaws of defeat, beating Spain 26-24 in a tough encounter.
New Zealand, meanwhile, lost 21-14 to Australia and 26-19 to Great Britain in their first two pool B matches.
But the Tomasi Cama-coached side returned to beat France 26-21 in their final pool clash to grab a playoff spot.
Fiji head coach Osea Kolinisau told The Fiji Times they will need to be disciplined, and not give away yellow cards. At the same time the side will miss Tira Wilagi, who has sustained a knee injury, and tall timber Joseva Talacolo, who suffered a concussion, with both players ruled out of the tournament.
Kolinisau said the team showed resilience, particularly in matches where they were forced to fight back.
"Thankful to God Almighty for giving us three out of three wins. We didn't expect to come from behind, but we addressed our weaknesses at half-time," he said.
However, the coach acknowledged areas that still require improvement heading into the knockout stages.
"We still need to work on missed tackles and yellow cards, and remain resilient."
The other semifinal will feature hosts Australia against South Africa.
In the women's competition, competition leaders New Zealand have France to contend with while defending champs Australia meets USA.
The Fijiana women's team lost all their pool games on Saturday and will compete against Canada in the fifth-place playoff on Sunday afternoon.
The side were well beaten by Japan 31-14 in their final pool game on Saturday night, and previously lost 34-15 to USA and and 36-5 to New Zealand.
Sunday's matches will kick off at the HBF Park in Perth at 3.30pm New Zealand time, with the first fifth-place playoff match between Japan and Great Britain.
Cup semifinals are scheduled to start with the first women's clash between New Zealand and France at 5.13pm, with the first men's semifinal kicking off at 5.57pm New Zealand time.
