February the 10th, 2026 ? Ryanair has launched new Dubrovnik routes following Wizz Air?s recent announcement of new routes from that airport.
Wizz Air recently revealed its plans to launch new seasonal routes from both Dubrovnik and Rijeka as of May this year as part of the company?s summer schedule and increased presence in Croatia. It didn?t take long before the popular Irish budget carrier Ryanair swooped in with a rival route from Croatia?s southernmost city.
Ex Yu Aviation reports that as of June the 2nd, Ryanair will launch its brand new Dubrovnik-Budapest route which will operate three times per week all the way until September the 29th. The route will undoubtedly prove popular among all those seeking a deserved break from the harsh Dalmatian sun and a taste of the Hungarian capital as a city break.
In addition, and as a further blow to Wizz Air, Ryanair will launch yet another new Dubrovnik route linking the city with Gdansk in Poland. Wizz Air will also connect Dubrovnik with Gdansk as well as with Budapest, meaning that ticket prices will likely be very competitive with both airlines.
Ryanair?s Europe-wide fame for its ultra-low prices on certain routes, particularly if passengers only have carry-on luggage will however likely be a thorn in Wizz Air?s side.
