And, unfortunately for TSN reporter Claire Hanna, she found out about a big one first hand.

Article contentOn Sunday, Hanna posted a series of video clips on her Instagram Stories after becoming locked in a bathroom at the arena roughly an hour before a game that she was set to cover.

“I can’t make this up, but I’m locked in a bathroom right now,” she said in the video posted on Sunday.

Hanna filmed herself attempting to unlock the door and moving the handle up and down with no luck.

“POV: you get locked in a bathroom and you’re supposed to be reporting on Olympic hockey,” she wrote on the clip.

“I’m stuck, just completely stuck,” she says while continuing to test the door and sharing that puck drop on the game that she was assigned to cover was set to start in an hour.

Luckily for Hanna, camera woman Maggie came to her rescue and — after some anxious moments at attempts to open the door — finally were able to free the reporter.

The two women shared a high five and some sighs of relief, with Hanna writing on the clip “This bathroom is cancelled.”

While some might’ve panicked in the situation, Hanna showed good humour over the situation, captioning the post “And we’re live from the bathroom” with a laughing emoji.

She also soundtracked the video with the song Stuck in the Middle With You by Stealers Wheel.

“I am having flashbacks to when I got stuck in an elevator in Czechia 15 minutes before a live intermission … I’m glad you got on on time!” Hanna’s TSN colleague Lindsay Hamilton commented.

Of course, the hockey arena in Milan has been the subject of much controversy leading up to the Winter Games.

It was well behind schedule in construction and wasn’t fully completed before the puck dropped for the preliminary round in the women’s tournament.

It was noted that while the ice and seating were finished, several amenities in the arena — like concession stands and bathrooms — had yet to be completed.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of someone becoming trapped in a bathroom at a Winter Olympics, either.

During the 2014 Games in Sochi, Russia, American bobsledder Johnny Quinn was forced to smash through a bathroom door after it became jammed.

He shared a photo of the resulting damage, with the door appearing to have been made from cardboard.

That wasn’t the only trouble that Quinn found himself in during his time in Sochi, either. Less than 48 hours after the bathroom incident, Quinn posted on social media that he was trapped in an elevator with two other people.

Sprinter Kendall Ellis also found herself in a tricky spot during the U.S. track trials ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Ellis got stuck in a portable toilet and needed to bang on the door for 10 minutes before finally getting someone’s attention.

She eventually would win the 400-metre final at the event go on to the Games while also picking up a new sponsor on the way: Charmin toilet paper.
