British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is facing growing scrutiny as tensions rise within his own party. The controversy stems from the Epstein Files, which have put a spotlight on his former US ambassador pick, Peter Mandelson, who resigned last September amid leaked emails linking him to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and now faces a criminal investigation, which he denies. Starmer’s judgement is under the microscope, and the fallout has claimed his chief of staff, Morgan McSweeney, who resigned, taking responsibility for the appointment. France 24’s Gavin Lee is joined by Denis MacShane, former Minister of State for Europe under Tony Blair, to discuss the implications for Starmer and the wider political scene.
