02/08/2026February 8, 2026Welcome to our coverageJon Shelton | Karl Sexton EditorHey sports fans, welcome to DW's coverage of Super Bowl LX, the 60th?National Football League (NFL) championship game being played tonight in?San Francisco, California — well, technically, Santa Clara, at Levi's Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers.

This year's matchup pits the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks against the AFC Champion New England Patriots.?

The Super Bowl is one of the most-watched sporting events in the world, making it?a magnet for advertisers. NBC, which will broadcast the game in the US this year, is charging $7 million (€5.9 million) for a 30-second spot during the program.?

This year's halftime show has also caused quite a ruckus in the US, with conservatives and supporters of US President Donald Trump's MAGA movement?fuming over the NFL's decision to choose Bad Bunny — a globally successful Puerto Rican singer who occasionally wears dresses, sings in Spanish and has been highly critical of ICE operations and deportations — as the game's big entertainment attraction.

Right-wing groups were so incensed by the choice that one of them, Turning Point USA, made the unusual decision to offer counter-programming for the halftime show.

The show has been billed the "ALL-American Halftime Show with Kid Rock" — a friend of President Donald Trump's, who will be joined by country music singers for those uncomfortable about having to watch Bad Bunny.

The game kicks off at?3:30 p.m. on the West coast (6:30 p.m. Eastern or?00:30 CET).
