By accessing PlainWire, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you should not access or use this service.
2. Description of Service
PlainWire is a free news aggregation service. We collect and display headlines and summaries from publicly available RSS feeds published by third-party news organizations. PlainWire does not produce original journalism and does not claim ownership of aggregated content.
3. Use License
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use PlainWire for personal, non-commercial informational purposes. You may not:
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the service at scale
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the server infrastructure
- Redistribute the aggregated feed data commercially
- Misrepresent PlainWire content as your own original reporting
4. Privacy
PlainWire is designed with privacy as a core principle:
- We set no cookies and use minimal JavaScript (theme toggle only).
- We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising networks.
- Your IP address is used only for rate limiting and country-based content selection. IP-to-country lookups are cached temporarily and not stored permanently.
- Server access logs may be retained for operational and security purposes but are not shared with third parties.
5. Content & Third-Party Sources
All news headlines and summaries are sourced from third-party RSS feeds (e.g., Reuters, AP, BBC, CBC, DW, and others). PlainWire does not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for the accuracy of third-party content. Links to original articles will direct you to the respective publisher’s website, which is governed by that publisher’s own terms and privacy policy.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
PlainWire is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free
- News content will be accurate, complete, or current
- Any particular source or region will always be available
7. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall PlainWire, its maintainers, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to reliance on any information obtained through the service.
8. User Conduct
You agree not to use PlainWire in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the service, or interfere with any other party’s use. Automated access is subject to rate limiting. Excessive or abusive requests may result in temporary or permanent IP blocks.
9. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of PlainWire after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Intellectual Property
PlainWire is proprietary software. The source code is not publicly available for redistribution. The service, its design, and its aggregation methodology are the intellectual property of PlainWire.
