With 68 seats, female representation in Lower House slips to second-highest level

The largest number — 39 — came from the Liberal Democratic Party, followed by eight each from the Centrist Reform Alliance (CRA), the Democratic Party for the People (DPP) and Sanseito. Among these three parties, the women accounted for 16.3%, 28.6% and 53.3% of each party’s total seats won, respectively.
