Tahiti United has claimed their first win in the OFC Pro League.
Tahiti defeated Fiji's Bula FC 1-0 on Sunday at the Santos National Football Stadium in Port Moresby.
A Teaonui Tehau penalty in the 69th minute gave the Tahitians the win.
The game also wrapped up round two of the competition.
OFC said Tahiti United had the best of the early going, with Germain Haewegene the most dangerous outlet up front. The forward had a good effort well saved by Didier Desprez, before captain Teaonui Tehau dragged a shot wide.
Roy Krishna was a marked man and could not add any real firepower to Bula FC's attack.
Bula FC's Semi Nabenu was ruled to have touched the ball with his hand in the 69th minute, and referee Calvin Berg pointed to the spot inside the box.
Captain Tehau comfortably sent the ball into the corner to put his side ahead.
Bula FC toiled hard but were unable to find a way to significantly threaten Teave Teamotuaitau in the Tahiti United goal, despite 13 minutes of additional time being added at the end of the 90 minutes.
Fijian Tevita Waranaivalu, who plays for Tahiti United, said it was tough playing against his fellow Fijians but added it was good for him and his team to secure the win.
"We know that today three points was very important to climb the ladder," he said.
"They are a powerful Fijian team but credit to the boys today. We stood by our game plan and we fought for each other until the last minute."
Bula FC player Setareki Hughes despite the loss, "hats off to the boys for giving 100 percent".
"Totally different ball game, they have come out victorious and congrats to them but we look forward to the next round ahead of us.
"We will make sure to come ready for the next round."
Tahiti United and Bula FC now have five points each on the points table, with the Fijians sitting at fifth while Tahiti are at sixth spot heading into the next round.
The OFC Pro League moves to Melbourne for round three, starting 21 February.
In Sunday's earlier game, Vanuatu United lost three players to red cards and lost the game with it as they were beaten 5-2.
In a fiery encounter, head coach Lars Hopp was also sent off the sideline, as Vanuatu United were on the back foot for most of the 90 minutes.
It took the Vanuatu side just 57 seconds to score through Alex Saniel, after he intercepted a Luka Coveny pass back to goalkeeper Jake Charlston.
Melbourne had an early chance to equalise, with Jordan Swibel forcing Matt Acton into a fine save from close range.
Swibel was to be in the mix again later in the game, when his shot struck the base of the post before Lucas Inglese sent the ball in for the equaliser.
Vanuatu United lost Robea Haruel, Kerry Iawak, and William Cardona who were sent off at various times, giving Melbourne the advantage.
Swibel scored from the penalty spot into the corner to make it 3-1, and later scored his second before Andrew Mesourouni added his name to the scoresheet for Melbourne.
The win means the Australian club have now moved clear to second spot on the points table with 11 points to their name, four less than Auckland FC.
